General English


English is the language for international communication and the General English courses have been designed to build skills, confidence and fluency.

As skills are developed throughout the course, students are able to:

  • integrate confidently into an English speaking environment

  • discuss events from newspapers, radio or TV with friends and work colleagues

  • talk confidently about work, travel or study plans

  • argue a case in both written and spoken English

  • talk and write about money matters

  • arrange and take part in interviews

  • write complaints and recommendations

  • communicate accurately in formal and informal writing

  • give a presentation on a range of topics


English for Academic Purposes


English for Academic Purposes is designed for students who wish to gain the language skills to study in an English speaking university or college.

Students in the English for Academic Purposes courses develop the skills and knowledge to:

  • confidently study in an English speaking university, working both independently and with others

  • undertake independent research

  • present a seminar and lead discussion groups

  • write academic reports and essays

  • converse fluently in academic situations

  • evaluate academic materials

  • pass examinations


IELTS Preparation


IELTS Preparation modules help prepare students for the IELTS test itself. This is the test that most students need to take before going to university.
